I am very fascinated with the status symbol brands of bags, clothing, shoes and accessories—from Balenciaga, Valentino, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Hermes, Botega Venetta, and Fendi and so on. I don't buy them though. Why? First, I wasn't born like Paris Hilton or like Manhattan socialite Tinsley Mortimer.
